Seafood Industry Victoria (SIV) is the peak body representing the Victorian seafood industry. Our members are involved in the harvesting, processing, wholesaling, retailing and exporting of seafood in Victoria.

SIV encourages the community to support their local seafood producers who have demonstrated their sustainability credentials.

Victoria has a wide variety of sustainable seafood, some which have been independently assessed by the Australian Conservation Fund and others independently assesssed under the Commonwealth's 'Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999'

The community can be confident that when they purchase these Victorian seafood products that they are supporting local commercial fishing industries that are harvesting seafood in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.

The health benefits from eating Seafood are widely known. Seafood is high in protein and rich in Omega 3 oils and other vitamins & minerals. A large amount of scientific evidence suggests that a diet rich in seafood is effective in preventing a range of health disorders including; coronary disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, asthma and depression.

Seafood harvested from Victoria’s fisheries is from some of the most pristine aquatic environments in the world.
